Q: How long have you lived in Camps Bay?
A: I purchased my property in Camps Bay in May 2013 after being a previous resident/property owner in Sea Point for 17 years.
Q: Before the CID Steering Committee, how have you been involved in local community affairs?
A: As a concerned resident, witnessing crime and homelessness on the increase, in 2018 I decided to propose implementing a transformation model on community regeneration (similar to what I had been involved with in other areas of South Africa) and co-founded Community who Cares (CwC) (rebranded ignisive) with our CPF Chair, who shared the vision/passion of an integrated/collaborative approach to addressing community safety and social upliftment.
I also represent the following Exco / Boards to support our community/Atlantic Seaboard:
✨Camps Bay Clifton Police Forum (CPF)
✨Camps Bay Clifton Ratepayers Association (CBCRA)
✨Ward 54 Womens Network Representative (DAWN)
✨Western Cape Street Children’s Forum Board (WCSCF)
Q: What is your career and professional background
For the past 27 years I have been involved in leading and consulting on Human Resources/Organisational Development for global organizations.
My career highlight was initiating and launching a community youth development initiative with Richard Branson, in the heart of Lavender Hill, while heading up National Transformation at Virgin Active SA.
This is where I recognized the power of true collaboration between Government, Business and Community stakeholders to help impact systemic change.
Similarly, I thoroughly enjoyed heading up Training and Development on board the World’s Largest Cruise Lines (for Royal Caribbean), where I developed and delivered learning/coaching programmes for over 70 different nationalities…training teams from all levels of work across Marine and Hotel Operations.
In 2009 I created and registered an NPC to apply a transformation model that helps address core systemic challenges.
I’m also a Director of Boland Canvas & Rope since 1997. A business that has successfully been running for over 50 years.
Q: Anything else that we should know about you?
A: I’m a passionate South African Citizen, with dual Italian Citizenship….born in the Winelands. Family, Travel, Learning & Development, while driving a cause that serves the greater good is what makes my heart beat.
